Because 1001 days is a bit limited, I’ve conceded defeat on certain items that I know I won’t complete (due to time and/or money) on this list plus every other thing I want to accomplish before I take my last breath … plus some others that weren’t on that list …

Creative (non photography)
Finish writing both of the Nanowrimo books I’ve started.
Write a travel article and have it published–online or in print.
Participate in Nanowrimo again.
Design the floor plan and interior design for my future *dream* home
Make a patchwork quilt.
Learn how to do hand lettering

Photography related
Publish a book of my photography to sell.
Have an image (or images) published in a major publication.
Take a day trip every other month to photograph area towns and communities.
Attend a photo workshop.
Photograph all the dance halls in Central Texas. (Gruene Hall 1.2011)
Have a 40×60 canvas of one of my travel/fine art images made to decorate a future home with.
Sell a large canvas of one of my travel/fine art images.

Visit the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland) + Ireland.
Travel with a friend for a long weekend. Done 10.2012
Take a weekend trip within Texas by myself. Done 1.2011
Visit Stonehenge (either in the UK or Texas–yes, we have a mini one here!).
Hike through Palo Duro Canyon.
Go to Dublin (Texas) for St. Patrick’s Day.
Ride the Texas State Railroad from Palestine to Rusk again & back and the Grapevine Vintage Railroad from Ft Worth to Grapevine and back.
Travel the Pacific Coast Highway.
Visit San Francisco (done 7.2015), Sausalito, Catalina Island, Big Sur, & Napa.
Visit Portland & Bend, Oregon along with the Columbia River Gorge and Cannon Beach.
Visit Seattle –while there, ride a ferry, visit Pike’s Place Market, stand at the top of the Space Needle, and tour the Seattle Public Library.
Visit Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, and Halifax.
Visit every one of the 58 national parks in the United States (21 visited to date (7.2017): Grand Canyon NP (x2), Carlsbad Caverns NP, Hot Springs NP, Grand Teton NP, Yellowstone NP, Glacier NP, Theodore Roosevelt NP, Rocky Mountain NP, Wind Cave NP, Mesa Verde NP (x2), Canyonlands NP, Arches NP, Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP (x2), Great Sand Dunes NP & Preserve (x2), Petrified Forest NP (x2), Sequoia NP, Kings Canyon NP, Yosemite NP, Redwoods NP, Crater Lake NP, Guadalupe Mountains NP)

Visit all the Disney Parks around the world (Disneyland (x2) – 1986, 1997; WDW – 2004).
See the pyramids in Egypt.
Take an African safari.
Travel Route 66 in its entirety from Chicago to Santa Monica. (so far: past stops in Williams, AZ in 1985, 1997; Arcadia – Foyil, OK – 2009; Amarillo – Adrian, TX – 2010; Edmond, OK to Shamrock, TX – 2011; Amarillo, TX to Santa Fe, NM (skipping part of the old route)- 2012; Amarillo to Santa Fe, NM (via Clines Corner, NM) – 2013; Amarillo to Albuquerque, NM (x2) – 2016, 2017)
Travel the Lincoln Highway from coast to coast.
Visit Monument Valley & the Four Corners  (done 5/2013)
Ride in a hot air balloon (bonus if its in Cappadocia, Turkey).
Visit all 50 states (22 down, 28 to go: Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Utah, Oregon, Nevada).
Visit all the Canadian provinces & territories (2 provinces down, 8 provinces & 3 territories to go: Alberta, Saskatchewan).
Take a TransCanada Rail trip.
Visit all the Australian States.
Spend a month in New Zealand.
Visit Paris, Normandy, Provence, and Nice in France.
Visit the Dalmatian Coast (Croatia).
Take a gondola ride in Venice.
Tour all the historic and religious sites in Rome.
Spend some time along the Almafi Coast, particularly Positano.
Visit Athens, Greece and the Greek Isles.
Visit Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
Spend at least a month traveling throughout Germany.
Visit a monastery and a Buddhist temple in Asia.
Visit Nepal.
Play a round a golf at St. Andrews in Scotland.
See the aurora borealis.
See the Marfa Lights. (visited Marfa 10.2016, didn’t see any “lights” other than the Milky Way)
Set foot on all seven continents (two down: North America & Europe).
Stand atop the Great Wall of China.
Pay my respects at the memorial in Hiroshima (since I was born on the anniversary of the city’s bombing).
Stand inside the Taj Mahal.
Zip line through a jungle canopy.
Live in another country for at least an entire summer.

Get my CHL (concealed handgun license).
Run a 5K at least twice a year. (2013 – check)
Finish a 10K.
Finish a half marathon.

Life & Family
Find a full-time teaching position in criminal justice or political science at a junior/community college.
Find a way to work abroad (Europe, Australia, or NZ) for awhile.
Find a church home.
Buy or build a home. Done 9.2017
Read the Bible from cover to cover.
Spend an afternoon outdoors reading a book in a hammock or on a blanket.
Draft a will, power of attorney, and medical power of attorney.
Meet or discover a man with whom I would like to spend the rest of my life. Married him 10.21.17!
Have a child (or two or three).
Retire no later than age 57 with enough money to comfortably enjoy retirement.
Complete a Masters of Library Science degree.
Own both a Newfoundland and West Highland Terrier breed dog.

Volunteer at the local humane society and for CASA.
Start a memorial scholarship at my high school in memory of classmates that have passed on.
Do something anonymously for someone in need.

Own a piece a jewelry from Tiffany & Co.
