… in black & white …
… and in color …
Month seven … one more month to go and I’ll surpass my previous monthly self portrait streak. So much easier this time around … *crosses fingers and knocks on wood to not jinx herself*
I’d planned on doing a different lying in the grass shot earlier in the year, but the rye grass didn’t cooperate. So I had to wait for the St. Augustine grass to cooperate … and for it to go unmowed long enough to set this one up … and then I itched for the rest of the evening!
Since I turn 34 this year, I thought I’d share 34 facts about myself with each self portrait post between now and my birthday month (aka August); here’s the seventh set of facts …
25. I have several chicken pox scars on my face … one of which is visible on my nose in the photos above.
26. I stockpile shower gel from Bath & Body Works’ sales … to use as bubble bath. Never actually use it for its intended purpose!
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
28. I’ve ‘surfed’ the web without a GUI (graphic user interface) and my favorite computer games were on the first computer my parents bought way back in 1989 (an old HP 286 computer) that required eight year old me to learn DOS in order to use it.
29. I have a knack for remembering details like where I was and what was going on around me when the Challenger and Columbia tragedies occurred, when I heard that Princess Di died, and when the OKC bombing, hearing about the planes flying into the Twin Towers, and when the Virginia Tech shooting happened, topics I’m a bit of a walking encyclopedia on, and of conversations (work and non work related) that were a few months ago, but ask me what I learned in class last week (I wasn’t, think hypothetically) or what I ate or wore two days ago, and I begin to feel like a ditz.
Six more facts to go with next month’s self portrait …
